News Articles from Cornish WebServices
Ten fold increase in natural search leads from Google

The end of the financial year is a good time to review the performance of many websites in terms of how effective they are at generating traffic. Companies with a website at the top of Google have a huge advantage over their competitors.

Search Engine Optimisation gives huge increases in natural traffic
Several clients of Cornish WebServices have seen natural search engine traffic increase substantially throughout the year as a result of long term natural search engine optimisation. Once a website has many keywords listed ‘above the fold’ (in the top 5 places) then very large increases in vistor numbers occur.

Examples include:

Over ten fold increase in natural traffic from google in just four months for a website Cornish Webservices rewrote to be search engine friendly for addictions advice

Four fold increase in natural traffic from the search engine Google for a company providing alcohol advice and treatment.

Three fold increase in natural visitors from google.nl (a Dutch website) in 4 months.

The above figures only apply for websites we have started optimising this year. Websites that Cornish WebService have maintained on top page of Google for many years have already seen the huge increase in visitors numbers in earlier years, and only show small increases in visitor numbers due to increased market size.

Social Networks Lead Ask, Google, Yahoo Search Terms For 2007

The lists were edited to remove adult-oriented queries and common searches, like “weather,” that prove perpetually popular.

By Thomas Claburn
Information Week

It’s December and in the news business that means one thing: lists.
During the holiday season, companies, sensing easy publicity, release lists of all sorts and journalists dutifully, or perhaps lazily, reprint them.

More Internet InsightsWhite PapersHow to Offer the Strongest SSL Encryption Maximizing Site Visitor Trust Using Extended Validation SSL This week, the search companies, except for Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT), are putting out their lists of top search terms for 2007.
The lists are, as Marissa Mayer, Google (NSDQ: GOOG)’s VP of search products and user experience, readily admitted in a Webcast for the press on Tuesday, edited to remove adult-oriented queries and boring queries, like “weather,” that prove perpetually popular.

But as Mayer also pointed out, Google lists reflect surges in search term volume and adult-oriented queries generally wouldn’t be among Google’s top-surging search terms even if they weren’t edited because they’re relatively constant.

Google’s list of fastest-rising search terms in the United States this year is as follows: 1) iPhone; 2) Webkinz; 3) TMZ; 4) Transformers; 5) YouTube; 6) Club Penguin; 7) MySpace; 8) Heroes; 9) Facebook; 10) Anna Nicole Smith.

“There’s a huge surge in interest in social networking,” observed Mayer, who noted that three of the top 10 rising terms were for popular social networks (four, if you count YouTube). Social networking sites also showed up in lists of top search terms published by other search companies.

Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) on Monday presented its list of top search trends in 2007. It’s not really comparable to Google’s list because Yahoo presents the top searches in several specific categories rather than ranking them by rising or falling volume. Yahoo’s top 10 tech terms are: 1) YouTube; 2) Wikipedia; 3) Facebook; 4) iTunes; 5) iPod; 6) iPhone; 7) Nintendo Wii; 8) Xbox; 9) Sony (NYSE: SNE) PlayStation 3; and 10) Guitar Hero.

Yahoo posted a variety of lists of top terms for specific categories of content, including top 10 news stories, top 10 environmental searches, top 10 troubled stars, and the like.

Ask.com on Tuesday offered its own list of the most popular search terms in 2007, not to be confused with the fastest search volume growth. Ask’s list includes: 1) MySpace; 2) Dictionary; 3) Google; 4) Themes; 5) Area Codes; 6) Cars; 7) Weather; 8) Games; 9) Song Lyrics; 10) Movies.

While lacking in the novelty value of Google’s list, Ask deserves special mention for publishing a list that includes Google (the competition) and for presenting terms deemed too boring for inclusion by Google. Yahoo’s top 10 list includes YouTube but not Google.

Buy Customers Not Leads

You do realize that buying leads is a total waste of good money, right? The way that a lead is produced by leads brokers is simple. They put out lead capture pages on Google. People find those websites, if they are good at search engine optimization, and they offer people some type of free information. The people simply put their name, email, address, phone number and other private information on these forms, and they just become a lead.

The story gets even better. They not only become a primary lead for that lead company, but the leads company will, in turn, sell that name to hundreds, or even thousands of other leads brokers around the world. By simply filling out that contact form, that person becomes fair game for every hungry and struggling network marketer on Google, Yahoo, MSN, WindowsLive and all the other major search engines.

How Much Do Leads Cost?

We now come to the core of the leads game. Oh, you may only pay a few cents for leads, but you can also expect to pay up to $100 or more by the time you actually find a person who is willing to join your business. You must consider that the ROI from buying leads is negligible at best.

Many leads companies offer telephone surveyed leads, fresh prospect leads and use all types of terms to convince people that their leads are better than everyone else’s. The fact is that all leads are the same. All leads are generated in the same way. All leads are nothing more than so-called interested people who have filled out a form somewhere. When you call these people, you will probably get and answer like “I never filled anything out like that.”

The sickening realization that you have just bought worthless products will become more evident with each and every phone call that you make.

Buy Customers Best Business Services Leads on Google

This is where we will show you how that you can simply buy customers to build a substantial Google business. We will prove to you how you will never have to make cold phone calls, talk with people who do not want to talk to you, never have to buy incredibly expensive leads and will never have to operate your business in the same old unproductive manner that every MLM company on the planet today tells you that you must do in order to become a successful internet marketer.

Googling IBM
In its search for growth, Google should look to corporate customers and partner with IBM.

NEW YORK (Business 2.0) – Google may not be the giant-killer it seemed before Tuesday. But the reaction to its earnings miss just makes it all the more critical that the company find new engines of growth far afield from its core business of search advertising.

Partners and analysts believe that Google (Research) is ready to plunge into the lucrative business-software market—and IBM (Research) may be the best partner to help it dive in.

Today, Google has few products for businesses. It sells a search engine appliance (a version of its search software bundled with a server machine, essentially). And it has partnered with IBM, Sun (Research), and EMC (Research) to integrate its desktop search software with their server products.

But Google already works with thousands of small and large businesses through its AdWords search-advertising program. And those customers could easily buy more than just ads from Google.

Getting serious beyond search
“I don’t see them limiting themselves to search,” says Marc Andrews, the director of strategy and business development in an IBM software unit who also oversees the current desktop-search partnership with Google. “That is why Microsoft and others are scared of them.”

Industry watcher Frank Gens, a senior vice president at market research firm International Data Corp., argues that Google will get serious in enterprise software by partnering with existing software companies to help them bring their applications online. “My prediction is in the next 30 to 60 days you will see some big names pick up Google as a strategic partner around information management and search,” he says.

Eyeing the success of Salesforce.com (Research), makers of enterprise software are thinking about how to deliver their software products through a browser, rather than through desktop software. Customers will want to simultaneously search all the data from multiple Web-based software applications—a natural role for Google. Likely partners include smaller enterprise software players who could benefit from Google’s brand, and don’t currently have an online offering of their own.

Best Business Services Leads on Google

Lock up your long-winded headlines. Google alerted us this week that press release headlines should not exceed 22 words. That’s eight words shorter than what we were told months ago. “An ideal headline should be between two and 22 words,” advises the search engine giant.

While there are no guarantees, certain practices maximize your chances of getting Google juice. Having something to say, for example–something that is “news,” not “olds.” Writing clearly is a good bet. Keeping it brief is also advised.

Unlike most of Business Wire’s distribution which is pushed out via our patented NX system, there’s no such thing as a “feed” to Google. They are invited in to spider our news and do so every few minutes. And, because of the amount of fresh content we post daily, Business Wire is considered an authority site.

Every now and then, a release fails to post to Google News. The reasons are a mystery. Google deliberately protects its algorithms, the instructions written by programmers for the robots that match web content with search queries. Presumably, this secrecy serves democracy, accuracy and as a deterrent to hackers gaming the system.

So, even with best practices and timely technology, guaranteed Google juice doesn’t exist. With Business Wire, your chances of being indexed by Google are extremely high. But, a random bullet point, a link in the headline, a formatting glitch–can sometimes keep your release from being scraped into the news bucket.

Any wire service that says otherwise is not being honest.

Lead Maverick really does help your business obtain and maintain top rankings in Google. To many people it seems unrealistic how efficient Lead Maverick works, but it’s true and we don’t use “black-hat” trickery in the optimization. Below is a testimonial from one of our new Lead Maverick Certified Reseller Partners, Lindsay Stone, with E Corners.

“I just wanted to let you know something really great.

I just posted content into our eCorners LM account about one of the articles we have of someone on the site. Which has ecorners.com as number 10 in the google search for Monica Hildebrand and number 15 for Monica Hildebrand Dallas now the LM listing is at number 1 and number 2 for both Monica Hildebrand and Monica Hildebrand Dallas

I posted the articles at around 11pm or so and 3 hours later it’s showing in the number one slot

Just thought I’d let you know… think I have a good hang on how to work the system”

Buying Customers of course. But how can one buy customers?

Is it even possible? OK… let’s back up a little.

For years, people have been buying business leads in an effort to build their business. Folks… it time to stop waisting precious time and money on dead end leads. Wouldn’t it be easier, cheaper and more effective to simply buy customers? Now that would be good business.

It is possible, because it’s good business.
